This car was designed and built by Frank Kurtis, very talented builder of racing and roadgoing cars from the 1930s through the early 1960s.
His cars were built in a few exemplars as a complete car, or as a kit, with buyers supplying engines ranging from Ford and Mercury flatheads to Cadillac and Chrysler V-8s. Of course, we all know, that the Frank Kurtis company was a precursor to the production four-seater Muntz Jet.
This Omohundro-Comet was built in two exemplars.
